Known for their beer but also accomplished wine-makers. Of the wineries owned by the ‘big four’ Japanese drinks makers (Asahi, Kirin, Sapporo, Suntory), this is the one where you can try wines from the widest geographical range of Japanese vineyards. Their local oak-aged Koshu has won acclaim but also a rare chance to try Hokkaido’s up-and-coming wines: Pinot Noir, Kerner and Zweigelt.
