Big commercial winery focused on mass-market wine for a domestic audience, especially from international grape varieties such as Merlot and Chardonnay. The large tasting room, set up for coach tours, offers an array of tastings including their top-of-the-line Solaris series. Regular tours, some self-guided, as well as wine-making exhibits on display, make this an interesting insight into the surprising scale of Japanese wine production. Established by the Kikkoman group (of soy sauce fame) in 1962.
